Path Robotics has merged welding with Artificial intelligence. From their website:

PATH ROBOTICS is currently under contract with Newport News Shipbuilding to bring autonomous welding to the shipyard. Path isn't replacing welders, its building systems designed to multiply the output of those current welders in factories.
